A short week for me.
I spent a couple of days at the beginning of the week in West Sussex, celebrating my friend’s birthday. Our birthdays are 10 days apart and for the last few years, we have done something jointly. This year, as well as him having my scintillating company for 3 days, we went for a meal at The Ivy: Asia, in Brighton. And it was amazing.
Whilst I was away, my son took his practical driving test and passed (first time), so I’m a very proud dad. He's both amazed and relieved, as our village is not very well connected via public transport. The independance and freedom it will give him is not to be underplayed.
Ended the week with another celebratory meal - this time in Bristol - for a friend from Brighton. Confused? Good! 😉

All those subscriptions add up. I did a triage on my subscriptions and got rid of quite a few, and downgraded (or re-negotiated) some. Monthly saving: £130.
I love being a mentor. It’s great to see people grow, or find clarity.

3 posts on LinkedIn, along with some comments on others’ posts.
No progress on creative writing - it had to take a back seat with all the other things going on in what was (for me) a short week.
One post published on The Ode Map.

Discovered Cove, a collaborative AI space. I’m thinking of using it as a knowledge base for some aspects of my business - most likely, my ‘projects’. Time will tell; I need to give it a go and see whether it’s going to be useful.
Updated my profile on my Alma Mater’s mentoring site.
Played around with LinkedIn search terms (for posts), and LinkedIn AI search prompts (for jobs). So far, so unimpressed with the latter.
Did a bit of refactoring of my GTD system. It needed some TLC. New projects created; old projects closed or refined; stagnant projects reviewed.
Put my hat in the ring for a couple of new positions - head of delivery / operations.
A post I saw on LinkedIn got my brain working overtime on Strategy and the delivery of strategies. I have lots that I need to say on the subject. Coming soon (eventually).

Some pictures from our joint birthday party at The Ivy: Asia, in Brighton. The place is absolutely amazing.

Catching up on some messages at my friend's farmhouse in West Sussex

More than enough card decks to get out of a rut / inspire creativity / facilitate workshops. I wrote a short post about them.

My son (17) about to take his first solo drive, having passed his test earlier in the week. Very proud of him.
