The week seemed to go on for ever whilst I was living it, but now, in reflection, it seems to have sped by.
I was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which my son’s car insurance settlement and vehicle tax rebate arrived. It means he can start looking for a new car without worrying about cashflow.
Fathers' Day brought about the, now expected, one-upmanship game/joke that my son and daughter play, whereby one or the other claim to be 'my favourite'. In the past this has been via cards, mugs, even socks.

Learnings
A bit of planning, and some iteration & reflection, makes things more manageable, more accomplishable, and less stressful.
Quote of the week
"AI coding is like riding a horse made of fireworks. Looks majestic for a second… Then your bottoms on fire."

Writing
Couple of LinkedIn posts; couple of comments
One post for The Ode Map - 'Ideas Page'
Had a few new ideas for the poetry, jotted down in my reMarkable - less writing and more ruminating, though.
Work(-ish)
I planned some sprints for an application for a job I’m interested in. 3 sprints of a couple of hours each, planned over three days. The outcome of each sprint, a complete application. Each sprint refining the application. Then, should anything crop up, at least I’d have a complete application to submit, rather than an absolutely fantastic, but incomplete, application.
Added some more automations to my Mac, to minimise repetitive activities.
Had lunch with one of my old teams. Nice to catch up and even nicer to meet in person.
Also had the weekly GovCamp Cymru campmakers’ call. Some news coming out this week.
Interesting elsewhere
Completed Saturday’s Guardian Prize Crossword in about 30 minutes. Quite tricky this week. LOI was a bit of a stab in the dark, too.
Had a lovely walk around Ashton Hill Wood. It’s near to home and the path is stone, so good for all weathers, if a little uneven.
Watched:
“Prime Target”, and “The Survivors”. Both OK.
“The Chelsea Detective”. Just started watching this on ‘U’. I’m a sucker for detective dramas, and this one is really quite good.
“Northern Exposure” - Binge watched the whole of series one on Prime. A bit of a nostalgia trip for me, I guess. I loved it when it first aired on terrestrial television here in the UK.
Listened to:
"Resonance", by Boris Blank. This is one of my ‘go to’ albums when I want to unwind of an evening. Beautifully produced.
The “Song Exploder” podcast episode about "Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games" by ‘of Montreal’ (Kevin Barnes) was very interesting. A fab song; it was great to hear Kevin explain the song’s backstory and its composition.
Reading:
Dipped in and out of a couple of books, including "The Punk Rock Birdwatching Club†" and "The Romance of William and the Werewolf†"
